Continuing education: a quality assurance approach.

In the arena of accountability measures in health care recertIfication mechanisms are bezng evaluated for their cost-effectiveness in occupatzonal therapy. The use of continuing education as one recertification option raises concern about the efficacy of educational activities. One measure of program quality is the continuing educatzon unit. Criteria for its award are delineated. Several methods for implementing the measurement of educational activities in occupational therapy are examined. E. Davis Martin, Jr.
